(Somehow, a few lines of code were omitted from
the DOWNLOAD.PROCESS subroutine in the version that
I posted about 8am EST (1pm GMT) today. Corrected files
were posted at 9:25am EST. The missing lines would have
caused associations to not be terminated correctly in
XML in some situations. My apologies for not having
caught this earlier.)

=================================
I am pleased to announce that version 7.10 of DOWNLOAD is
available for free from:
ftp.cedarville.edu

For those not familiar with DOWNLOAD, it is a "command-line"
utility which extracts data from Unidata/Universe databases
and produces output files in a variety of formats (XML, HTML,
tab-delimited, word-processing merge, etc.). The syntax
is similar to the LIST statement. Installation is fairly painless
using the installation paragraph provided. A PDF reference
manual is provided.

Changes in version 7.10 include the capability to insert
text at the start of XML and HTML files (for things like
name-space references, style-sheet references, etc.).
There have also been changes in subroutine names
and cataloging options to provide a better fit in
organizations where there were naming or style
conflicts.

A summary of the changes appears below.

As usual, please let me know if you have any problems
with installation or operation.

*      VIEW.SEQ.FILE         to DL.VIEW.SEQ.FILE
* Added options for cataloging globally or locally during

For folks who might be on an older release, here are
the changes that were made when release 7.00 came out
last year:
* Added EVAL functionality for output of expressions.
* Incorporated EVAL and data-field functionality into various
*       HTML and XML options.

*    Added XML.GROUP.NAME qualifier.
* Enabled XML.ATTRIBUTE within associated fields.
* Modified the APPEND logic to allow this function to work in
*       Universe.
* Enabled APPEND for HTML and XML output.
* Added support for NUM.VALUES when specifying the key
* to a SECONDARY.FILE (especially useful with XML).
* Added '@RECORD' as a method for specifying output fields.
* Consolidated redundant code in DOWNLOAD.PARSE.
* Added 'DOWNLOAD HELP MAX' to show the various maximum
* values for literals, fields, etc.
* Systematized DEBUG.LEVEL arguments (see documentation file for
*       details).
* Conformed all variables in I_DOWNLOAD_OUT_REC_COMMON to a
*       consistent naming scheme.
* Bug fix (recognize VOC entries with type LF and LD)
* Bug fix (recognize DICT records of type V)
* Bug fix (comma-quote fields with a format specification shorter
* than the actual data length would produce unpredictable
*       results)
* Bug fix (exploded list was not being honored by secondary files)
