[Download-List] UTSEND

You would probably need to create your file as a CSV file in the _HOLD_ directory and then use UTSEND to send the file. You could probably open it up then as a CSV file if you were to save the information correctly. I haven't had a chance to try it yet though.

Hope this helps. Have a GREAT day!

Thank you for the UTSEND example. It looks like it could be very useful but I now I would like some more info on it. I have checked all over for some documentation but am coming up empty. Can you send a link to some doc for it? I would like to know what options are available - eg. Can it be sent as an attachment to an email and then be opened directly into an Excel spreadsheet?

You usually issue the UTSEND command after the creation of the _HOLD_ file.
Here is the syntax.

: UTSEND _HOLD_ filename email_address_of_receipient

I agree - we use & love DOWNLOAD. We build queries using DOWNLOAD into
menus for the users to access directly.

However, I'm not familiar with UTSEND -- what is it & how do you use it
with DOWNLOAD? Willing to share a sample?

I've put the programs in the users menus and they can run them themselves.
I included the UTSEND functionality so the data will go to their email
address.
