[Download-List] Using Download to download all fields in a file.

Michael,

I have been using DOWNLOAD for a bit and always use the NUM.VALUES
statement to ensure I get the fields I need. If all you need it the full
record, then NUM.VALUES ALL will work. However, if bringing the file
into a spreadsheet to sort, then make sure you define the number of
fields to DL so all columns match (i.e. NUM.VALUES 5 for five fields).
You will get blank fields for records with less than 5.

Subject: [Download-List] Using Downlaod to download all fields in a
file.

Hello!

I'm just starting to play with DOWNLOAD. I'm using Download 7.1.2 on
Unidata 6.0.3, with Colleague 17.0.14 if that matters.

I thought that I read the documentation and saw that this should
download
all the Data Fields for a given file.

>SELECT WWW.STATE
>DOWNLOAD WWW.STATE @RECORD FILE _HOLD_ MY.TEST

all I end up with is a file with @ID's. It's got to be something I'm
doign
wrong. Any sugggestions ?

Thanks!

Michael
