[Download-List] Extracting multi-values as one block of text

We have always had a problem downloading the Course Description using multiple tools all seem to stop at 126 characters.  Informer is about the only thing that seems to work and even that is iffy.  I'd love to hear if anybody has cracked this egg.

I gave Brian’s CONVERTsuggestion a whirl but have run into a problem.

My sample course record’sCRS.DESC is stored as:

A course designed to provide the student with a^253basicunderstanding of the nature and principles^253of war, national power, and theDepartment of^253Defense role in the organization of national^253security. Thestudent also develops leadership^253abilities by participating in amilitary^253organization, the cadet corps, which offers a wide^253variety ofsituations demanding effective^253leadership.  Course taught at theUniversity of^253Kentucky.

Doing a SELECT and DOWNLOADCOURSES CRS.DESC it comes out (as expected):

"A course designed to provide the student with a"

Doing DOWNLOAD COURSES EVAL“CONVERT(@VM,’ ‘,CRS.DESC)” it comes out as:

"A course designed to provide the student with a basicunderstanding of the nature and principles of war, national power, and t"

All of my descriptions stop at126 characters (the field itself is 50 characters).  Is there somethingelse I’m missing?  Any suggestions?  Thanks!

I usually do a CONVERT(@VM , ‘ ‘,CRS.DESC)    for this.  That second parameter is a spacebetween quotes.

I’ve always used NUM.VALUES for a multi-valued field, butcan DOWNLOAD extract data (like CRS.DESC) as one column including all the linesof text?  I can do this in Querybuilder using reformat and I’ve neverinvestigated whether DOWNLOAD could do the same.  If so this could be veryuseful
is this possible and if so, how?  Thanks!
