Sally -

The SELINP subroutine will not work in a computed column within
Datatel's R18 system because it does not meet the requirements for an IS
subroutine.  However, you can still use SELINP in regular old i-descs
that you create and use at the colon prompt.

One of our programmers just informed me that in R18 the SELINP program
would not work in a computed column.  Through the years I've used this
wonderful program frequently in order to avoid making hundreds of
'dict
items' which were term based from the STUDENTS file.  Is there a
solution?
